Stars and Deleting Browser Clips - ONA.UNO Docs

Star important items and understand what can (and can’t) be deleted in ONA.UNO.

Stars

Stars are your way of marking items you want to come back to — the important email, the article with the key insight, the note with the next steps. Starred items get a small badge in the timeline and are treated specially in summaries.

How to star and unstar

Right-click an item in the timeline and choose Star or Unstar, or use the shortcut ⌘S to toggle the star on the selected item.

Finding your starred items

Use the search filter is:starred to show only starred items, or click the predefined All Starred search from the loupe menu in the toolbar.

Stars are scoped to your current Set — each library has its own starred items. See Sets (Libraries).

Stars in summaries

When a day or daypart contains starred items, ONA.UNO highlights them. The summary leads with a dedicated Starred Items section before moving on to the regular overview and themes. This way, the items you’ve flagged as important always get top billing without being mixed into the general summary.

Stars are local to ONA.UNO

Starring an item inside ONA.UNO doesn’t affect the original source. For example, starring a Feedbin article in ONA.UNO does not star it in Feedbin, and starring an email doesn’t flag it in Mail.

Deleting items

Browser Clips can be deleted

Only Browser Clips can be deleted from inside ONA.UNO, because they live entirely within ONA.UNO’s database after you clip them. You’ll see a confirmation prompt before anything is deleted, and there is no undo — once confirmed, the clip is removed. (If you clip the same URL again later, it appears as a new item.)

Other items are managed at their source

Items from folders, Mail, Obsidian, and Feedbin need to be deleted in the app or location they came from:

  • Folder items → delete the file in Finder
  • Mail items → delete the message in Mail
  • Obsidian items → delete the note in Obsidian
  • Feedbin items → unstar or remove the article in Feedbin

ONA.UNO disables the Delete action for these items and points you to the right place.
